vashanti.com: nothing can come of nothing

Just added a blog blog

I realieed that  a lot of people I know, and know not too well have blogs. I realise I don’t have one. Blogs are kinda a way for eveyrone to know your business – like a public diary.

Well the thing about me is that even if I have one, you still can’t know who I am, or get me as well. So I started a blog. Even if others read it or not, it’s still a good place to release thoughts.

Lack of Inspiration

I have over the past few weeks, removed quite a few photos, some I think are just great, others, not so much. Next step would be to post them to the website…….
……..
………..
………….
No inspiration, I have been trying to find some energy and enthusiasm to do a lot of things including this, and it’s just not there. Today I am trying once again, and hope before the days’ end, I shall have the best of my photos up here.

Photo Updates

I haven’t been able to go out and snap pictures now as I used to before, even though I have so much more time on my hands these days. I have added a few photos to my gallery, not much, please stop y and as always your [positive] comments are welcome.

Website Updates

I have recently changed the template of my website and included more information on all pages. I have been battling over what I would consider a good and tolerable template for my website. After I have chosen one, I quickly get tired of it and think that it is just too plain. For now [for a long time] I have settled on this template.

it is just too hard to find a template that suits me, my personality, one that can tell someone a lot about me, but just visiting my site.

A long time for bad salad

A couple months ago I decided to grow a mix of lettuce. Seven days hadn’t pass and the seeds began to germinate. I got really excited and figured in a few weeks I would have a lot of lettuce and won’t have to buy salad at the grocery store for a while. Two weeks past before I realized that I needed more pots so that the lettuce had enough space to grow.
Fine.
Did that, during the transplanting, many didn’t survive.
Okay. At least I had at least one plant from each variety. About a week later I then realized that the plants were not growing. They were just there.
I figured maybe I should use garden soil rather than leaving them in potting soil. Surely enough after a couple days, I began to see improvement. Larger leaves, taller, etc.

Anyway, in the end (today) I decided I can’t wait for the lettuce to be done. The leaves looked good enough and I don’t think they should have lasted this long.Home grown lettuce
I picked the leaves, washed them, put in a small bowl, spread some Italian dressing on there, sad down and took a bite.

TERRIBLE!

I wouldn’t say it was a total waste. I did learn some things. Like:
1. Don’t try growing lettuce if living in an apartment.
2. Potting soil is not forever.
3. Miracle grow from day one.

This has nothing to do with the website but I figured I need to entertain my visitors with this info.

Small building in Central Park

When I got to this area of Central Park during my last visit to New York, I noticed this small building, where treats were sold, sat in the shadows of these two tall buildings from across the street. I figured “that looks beautiful” so I snapped some pics of it, this was the better.

It has been added to my portfolio of photos.

One flower among the bunch

I got all the way to the south end of Manhattan Island at this waterfront park. These flowers were amazing, and I hoped I could capture them in a beautiful way. I think I did.

I don’t know what kind of flower this is but I do know that it is beautiful. This photo has been added to my portfolio.

New York City Subway

NYC Subway

NYC Subway

On my recent trip to New York I decided that I should take out a photo of the platform at one of the subway stops. To be honest the only reason I did it was because I saw this tourist taking a shot as well, and also at the time there were less than a handful of people on the platform. Americans are so cautious, especially when it comes to persons removing photos of these kinds of places in big cities.

I am not to proud of this photo to be honest. I think the shot could have been better. Let me know what you think.

Added to portfolio.
